The Department was inaugurated at the inception of the Teaching Hospital in 2016. It is primarily saddled with the responsibility of catering for pregnant women and women who are not pregnant but have diseases and disorders related to the female reproductive tract. The Department also trains medical students as well as resident doctors in obstetrics and Gynaecology. The Department boasts of well-grounded consultants who are great researchers in their various sub-specialties.
